Federer Restored Tsonga

Roger Federer did not have much trouble against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second round of Rome Masters on Thursday (12/05/2011).


Federer appeared very superior on clay court. Convincing straight sets victory 6-4 6-2 over Tsonga picked not many barriers.
In the third round later on the Swiss tennis player will face Richard Gasquet, who occupies the 16th seed.
"I always expect a tough game as it is spoken before the match. I know he is dangerous and has a good service, "said Federer after the match.
"Maybe the conditions a bit slow and I was able to control from beginning to end, so this is a good match and I am satisfied," added the world number three tennis player.
In other matches, fifth seed Robin Soderling managed to repatriate Fernando Verdasco with a score of 2-6 7-5 6-4. Soderling will face Nicolas Almagro who get rid of Sam Querrey 3-6 6-7.
